Enjoy an immersive winter experience with a complimentary snowshoeing and guided icewalk (weather permitting) in a magical setting. The tour also includes a seasonal, limited-time visit to the spectacular Abraham Lake to view its famous frozen methane bubbles. For your convenience, you’ll have two nights overnight in the Banff town center, and a guided experience at Johnston Canyon to witness its stunning frozen waterfalls and forest walkways.

Calgary/Banff - Gondola - Johnston Canyon Ice walk or Marble Canyon - Bow Falls - Surprise Corner - Banff Town

Accommodation: Stay at Banff Aspen Lodge, Banff Mount Royal, Elk + Avenue Hotel, Banff Inn, Banff Park Lodge, Banff Caribou Lodge & Spa, Irwin's Mountain Inn, or similar hotels in the Banff area.

The journey starts from Calgary and focuses on Banff National Park, Canada's first national park.

Key Attractions & Activities:

  • Banff Sulphur Mountain Gondola (Optional): Ascend to 2,281 meters for a 360° view of six mountain ranges (approx. 90 min stop).
  • Johnston Canyon or Marble Canyon: Explore dramatic canyons and waterfalls via catwalks (Johnston Canyon, approx. 60 min, free ice cleats provided/weather permitting) or admire the turquoise waters and rock formations (Marble Canyon, approx. 30 min). (Note: Cave & Basin may be substituted due to road conditions/closures.)
  • Bow Falls: View the impressive rapids of the Bow River (approx. 15 min stop).
  • Surprise Corner: Photo stop for the iconic view of the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel (approx. 15 min stop).
  • Hoodoos Viewpoint: Marvel at the unique, eroded rock formations (approx. 15 min stop).
  • Banff Town: Enjoy free time to explore this charming alpine town (approx. 90 min stop).
Day 02 :
Lake Louise - Snowshoeing - YOHO - Emerald Lake - Natural Bridge

Departing from Calgary, the day is dedicated to the Canadian Rockies and Yoho National Park.

Key Attractions & Activities:

  • Lake Louise: Spend approximately 2 hours at the famous glacial lake for exploration and an optional, weather-dependent Snowshoeing experience (rental included, approx. 20 min activity).
  • Yoho National Park: Scenic drive through the park.
    • Spiral Tunnel: View this feat of railway engineering (pass through with commentary).
    • Emerald Lake: Short stop (approx. 20 min) at the largest lake in Yoho.
    • Natural Bridge: Observe the rock formation carved by the Kicking Horse River (approx. 15 min stop).
  • Vermilion Lakes: Enjoy a peaceful winter stop for photos of Mount Rundle reflected in the water (approx. 20 min).
Day 03 :
Lake Minnewanka + Hot Spring (Limited Time Only) or Abraham Lake - Lake Louise Ski Resort (Icefield Parkway)

Itinerary Highlights

The day features winter activities at Lake Louise, a special seasonal visit to Abraham Lake, and a relaxing end at the Banff Hot Springs.
Key Attractions & Activities:
Lake Louise Ski Resort: Enjoy free time for optional skiing, snowboarding, Tubing (optional), or the Sightseeing Gondola (optional). Free time is 2–3 hours, or replaced by leisure time at Lake Louise if no activity is joined.
Note: If the Ski Resort is closed, the itinerary substitutes a scenic drive along the Icefields Parkway, with photo stops at Bow Lake and Peyto Lake.
Ski Lessons (Optional): Available for limited departure dates (private and group options).
Abraham Lake (Seasonal): Visit the unique lake famous for its frozen methane bubbles.
Heli Tour (Optional): A 20-minute scenic flight over the Rockies (available Jan-Mar, weather permitting).
Note: Tours departing Jan–early Mar will feature a special visit to 'Bubble Lake,' replacing Lake Minnewanka and Banff Hot Springs.
Banff Upper Hot Springs: Relax in the outdoor mineral springs (approx. 60 min, admission not included).
Note: May be replaced by Cave & Basin if unavailable. Will be skipped if the Icefields Parkway substitution is used.
Lake Minnewanka: Visit the longest lake in the Canadian Rockies (approx. 20 min stop).
The tour returns to the hotel between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM.
